Nothing can stop the man with the right mental attitude from achieving his goal;
nothing on earth can help the man with the wrong mental attitude.

All elite athletes use an annual training plan to ensure that their training is organized and efficient.
A training plan will allow both the athlete and coach to determine the most important
competitions and plan the whole year around those events.

Both provincial and national team shooters use an annualized training plan to help them achieve their goals.

Perhaps a Japanese proverb will assist you in realizing the importance
of a training plan at any level of competition:

Vision without action is a daydream.   Action without vision is a nightmare'.
